Key Accountabilities:

As a Sales Associate at Colgate-Palmolive, you will be accountable for driving sales and distribution objectives through effective customer development strategies.

Responsibilities:

Trade Operations:

  • Market Growth: Develop and implement plans to expand market presence and increase sales.
  • Wholesaler Engagement: Foster strong relationships with specialty wholesalers to optimize their usage and drive sales.
  • Store Performance: Classify stores in route lists according to accurate RE and advise SSMs to reduce non-purchasers.
Sales Excellence: Utilize selling stories, range selling, and handle objections effectively to achieve sales targets.

In-Store Execution:

Prioritize accounts for maximum impact through visibilities, ensuring top 2 outlets in every route are covered.

Competitive Intelligence:

Secure insights from competitive information available in the public domain regarding new products, activities, schemes, and other developments.

Data Analysis:

  • Analyze data to drive overall business performance.
  • Set objectives for market visits and review sales associate and PSR performance against plan.

Learning and Development:

  • Develop sales associates through required training modes (e.g., new products, toothbrush assortment, focus on medical stores).
  • Mentor and empower sales associates to perform well by ensuring CP benefits are availed by SSMs.
  • Acknowledge issues faced by sales associates and provide support to resolve them.

Meetings and Reporting:

Conduct effective monthly and weekly sales associate meetings and compile reports as per requirements communicated by AM.

Partnership Building:

  • Foster trust and understanding with stockiest and trade partners, especially key wholesalers, to drive business growth.
  • Share success stories and communicate programs to build off-takes.

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of work experience in FMCG companies and a Post Graduate degree in Business Administration is preferred.
