Becoming a Technical Project Director means taking on a highly rewarding and challenging role where you will lead projects from start to finish. Your main focus will be on planning, executing, and finalizing these projects according to strict deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. You will direct project development, ensuring that everything is done efficiently and effectively.
  2. Collaborate with senior management and stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives.
  3. Develop comprehensive project plans and associated communications documents.
  4. You will communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders clearly and timely.
  5. Liaise with stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  6. Estimate resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  7. Draft and submit proposals, recommending changes where necessary.
  8. Negotiate with department managers for personnel acquisition when required.
  9. Participate in software analysis, design, development, and support activities adhering to development and quality standards.
  10. Assess the need for additional staff and/or consultants and make recruitments as necessary.
  11. Set and manage project expectations with team members and stakeholders.
  12. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  13. Resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  14. Manage project dependencies and critical path.
  15. Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using suitable tools.
  16. Track project milestones and deliverables.
  17. Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  18. Analyze results, troubleshoot problem areas, and determine frequency and content of status reports.
  19. Proactively manage scope changes, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  20. Define project success criteria and disseminate them throughout the project life cycle.
  21. Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors, influencing them to take positive action and accountability.
  22. Build and develop business relationships vital to the project's success.
  23. Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  24. Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
