Job Title: Sectoral Energy Efficiency Specialist

Description:

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in spearheading national efforts to promote efficient resource use and conservation in diverse sectors of the economy.

This position requires an expert to set goals and performance parameters for the technical department, ensuring compliance with regulatory regimes and national energy efficiency strategic plans.

The expert will be responsible for introducing energy-efficient initiatives in the building sector, providing strategic direction, and executing EE technical programs. They will also develop sector-specific energy efficiency plans, contribute to effective implementation, and monitor progress.

A key focus area will be on promoting energy conservation building codes and developing standards for labeling appliances used in domestic, commercial, and government sector buildings.

The ideal candidate should have a BSc in Engineering (Electrical or Civil) from a reputable university recognized by HEC. A postgraduate qualification in the relevant field is preferred, along with knowledge of international codes and design software such as Energy Plus and e-Quest.

With at least 6-8 years of experience in energy efficiency, including three years in a relevant field, the selected candidate will work closely with stakeholders to promote energy conservation and develop awareness campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop sector-wise energy efficiency strategic plans
  • Review international EE standards and facilitate labeling regimes
  • Review energy conservation building codes
  • Develop content and training programs for energy auditors and managers
  • Create linkages with multinational donors for technical assistance programs

Deliverables:

  • Draft sector-wise energy efficiency strategic plans for industries and other respective sectors
  • Assist in developing EE&C action plans for the building sector
  • Identify EE barriers for the building sector
  • Assist in preparation and launch of mandatory programs in the building sector

Education and Experience:

  • BSc in Engineering (Electrical or Civil)
