**Energy Efficiency Expert - Power Sector

The role of the Energy Efficiency Expert will be to spearhead the national effort to promote the efficient use of resources and conservation in diversified energy-consuming sectors of the economy.

The successful candidate will set goals and performance parameters for the technical department, ensuring compliance with regulatory regimes and strategic plans.

The expert will provide strategic direction and tactical vision for initiatives in the power sector, planning, designing, and executing energy technical programs.

The expert will also develop measurable goals, work plans, and business plans for new program/project initiatives in accordance with charter duties.

A key responsibility will be to ensure strict compliance with relevant provisions and regulations in the power sector.

The expert will also be responsible for capacity building and professional support to other departments as needed.

Other responsibilities include developing sector-specific energy efficiency strategic plans, contributing to the effective implementation of work plans, monitoring and evaluating activities, and providing technical input in developing standards.

The expert will also assist in improving the efficiency of power generating units, developing content and training programs, and supporting the implementation of national schemes for certified energy auditors and managers.

The job requires a strong background in energy efficiency, thermal utilities, and project management, with a minimum of 8 years' experience in the relevant field.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical or mechanical) from a reputable university and postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying barriers to energy efficiency in the power sector and assisting in the preparation and launch of mandatory programs such as energy audits.

This is a challenging role that requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
