The role of a Senior Accountant involves safeguarding the economic transactions of the division by ensuring timely and accurate month-end cut-offs, reconciliations between Sub-Ledgers and General Ledger, and accurate tax provisioning.

As a key liaison for tax audits and income tax assessments, you will support internal/external audit processes with complete documentation and reconciliations. Additionally, you will monitor changes in local tax laws and ensure correct application in financial records and compliance practices.

You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing Balance Sheet accounts, including tax-sensitive accounts and reconciliations. This role also involves providing detailed tax schedules and supporting preparation and filing of Corporate Income Tax, Sales Tax, and advance tax computations in line with FBR regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and book General Ledger transactions, including tax-related accruals, provisions, payroll, and closing entries.
  • Prepare and review Balance Sheet accounts, ensuring reconciliation between Sub-Ledgers and General Ledger, accurate tax provisioning, and completeness of liabilities and assets.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, per legal entity (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Trial Balance), with particular focus on tax-sensitive accounts and reconciliations.
  • Report monthly financials in Group tools and ensure local tax compliance and accuracy of tax disclosures.
  • Prepare annual statutory financial statements under local GAAP (e.g., IFRS as adopted in Pakistan) and coordinate tax-related filings such as Income Tax, Sales Tax, and Withholding Tax returns.
