Job Title: Pharmaceutical Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented pharmaceutical specialist to join our hospital's pharmacy department. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for dispensing medications, reviewing physician orders, and ensuring patient safety.

The ideal candidate will possess a Doctorate/Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from a recognized university, current registration with the relevant council, and at least one year of experience in a reputable organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Dispense drugs accurately and efficiently in various pharmacy settings
  • Review and process physician orders to ensure precise therapeutic dosages
  • Monitor laboratory reports for potential drug interactions, duplications, and adverse effects
  • Deliver medications promptly to nursing units and patients
  • Verify label accuracy before dispensing
  • Maintain expiration dates and lists of controlled substances
  • Counsel patients on medication use and provide education on proper dosage and adherence
  • Prepare specialized medications, such as cytotoxic agents, TPN solutions, and sterile injections
Requirements:
  • Doctorate/Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution
  • Current registration with the relevant pharmacy council
  • At least one year of experience in a hospital or clinical setting
  • Familiarity with hospital pharmacy operations and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacology, physiology, and pharmaceutical concepts
  • Ability to communicate effectively with medical professionals, patients, and other stakeholders
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends
