Enterprise SAN Backup Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Enterprise SAN Backup Specialist to oversee our Storage Area Network (SAN) backup infrastructure.

  • Design, build, deploy, and maintain enterprise SAN Backup Architecture on IBM hardware, AIX operating system, and centralized storage system.
  • Ensure the integrity, availability, and security of our database by safeguarding critical data and ensuring data recovery capabilities.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to backup efficiency, scalability, and security.
  • Conduct regular assessments of SAN infrastructure to identify areas of improvement and implement necessary changes.
  • Develop and enforce backup policies and procedures to ensure data consistency, regulatory compliance, and security standards.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans.
  • Plan and conduct periodic drills and tests to validate disaster recovery processes.
  • Manage incident activities for backup and archiving infrastructure.
  • Develop technical expertise on backup and storage systems along with associated processes and procedures.
  • Communicate backup processes and procedures to all concerned for effective implementation.
  • Ensure data backup of critical business machines.
  • Supervise vendor coordination to resolve issues.
  • Prepare RFP/RFQ documents for procurement, including SLAs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in designing, building, deploying, and maintaining enterprise SAN Backup Architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of IBM hardware, AIX operating system, and centralized storage systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other IT teams.
