Corporate Agreements Manager

This role is ideal for a professional with strong legal expertise and contract management skills.

  • Job Summary:
  • The purpose of this position is to prepare and review contracts, providing timely professional legal advice and opinions to departments.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Assist in screening and evaluating agreements/contracts, such as service level agreements, gas sale and purchase agreements (upstream and downstream), and procurement contracts under regulatory rules.
  • Determine if agreements serve the company's interests, highlight unfavorable terms, and suggest amendments or removals.
  • Study drafts of impending legislation, evaluate their impact on the organization, and recommend appropriate responses.
  • Coordinate with various departments to resolve issues related to contracts and legal matters.
  • Assist in drafting contracts, memoranda of understanding, and non-disclosure agreements for commercial transactions.
  • Prepare amendments to existing contracts, considering legal implications and safeguarding organizational interests.
  • Review tenancy and lease agreements, providing feedback to relevant departments.
  • Analyze court decisions on legal issues, assess their impact on operations and ongoing lawsuits, and discuss options with superiors.
  • Coordinate with external law firms for specialized legal opinions and ensure requirements are met.
  • Participate in negotiations for gas sale agreements within the industry, ensuring legal aspects are addressed.
  • Provide legal opinions and guidance on issues and queries from departments.
  • Represent the organization in government and legal forums on legislative matters as required.
  • Assist counsel in managing lawsuits, including filing and follow-up.
  • Attend court hearings on behalf of the organization when necessary.
  • Prepare reports on contract progress and legal document vetting.
  • Support junior staff in drafting and legal analysis.
  • Identify, assess, and develop strategies for legal risks, monitoring their management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely risk reporting.
