Job Description:

A law graduate from a recognized university with 5 years of relevant experience and 2 years of Bar Enrollment is required for this position.

The purpose of this role is to prepare and review contracts, provide timely professional legal advice and opinions as required by user departments.

  • Screen and evaluate agreements/contracts, determine if they serve the company's interests and identify unfavorable terms.
  • Study drafts of impending legislation, assist in evaluating its probable effect on the company and raise recommendations to deal with implications.
  • Coordinate with various departments to resolve issues relating to contract drafting or execution.
  • Prepare draft contracts for commercial transactions, MoUs, and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Review tenancy and lease agreements, providing feedback to relevant departments.
  • Study reports on superior court decisions, evaluate their probable effect on the company's operations or pending lawsuits and discuss options with the immediate supervisor.
  • Coordinate with external law firms for specialized legal opinions and review/discuss them to ensure SSGC's requirements are addressed.
  • Participate in negotiation teams to settle gas sale agreements with E&P companies within the gas industry.
  • Ensure legal aspects are taken care of in settlement-related matters.
  • Provide legal opinions and guidance on referred issues, cases, and queries from user departments.
  • Represent the organization in government and legal forums, including standing committees and ministries.
  • Assist in the institution and follow-up of lawsuits filed by the company or where the company is defendant.
  • Attend court hearings on behalf of the organization in important matters or as deemed necessary.
