Purchase Director

As a seasoned procurement professional, you will plan, direct or coordinate the activities of buyers and purchasing officers. This involves procuring materials, products and services that meet our business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure accurate records of goods ordered and received.
  2. Identify and interview vendors to determine product availability and terms of sales.
  3. Process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment in a timely manner.
  4. Develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures.
  5. Review and approve purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
  6. Conduct market research to assess present and future material availability.
  7. Develop specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials.
  8. Resolve vendor grievances and claims against suppliers.
  9. Negotiate contracts with suppliers on behalf of the company.
  10. Evaluate and approve bid specifications for issuing and awarding bids.
  11. Coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying selling and distributing materials, equipment, machinery and supplies.
  12. Provide market insights and merchandise cost reports.
  13. Manage online purchasing systems effectively.
  14. Dispose of surplus materials efficiently.
