Software Development Specialist

Job Description:

As a skilled software development specialist, you will design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications using Ruby on Rails. Your primary focus will be on delivering scalable, reliable, and user-friendly solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Ruby on Rails.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Optimize application performance for responsiveness and reliability.
  • Integrate third-party APIs, cloud services, and internal systems as required.
  • Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to knowledge sharing.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and advocate for best practices in software development.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in software development with a strong focus on Ruby on Rails.
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), MVC architecture, and RESTful API design.
  • Experience with frontend technologies such as JavaScript, React, or Vue is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar with proficiency in writing optimized queries.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and containerization like Docker or Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, Git version control, CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks like RSpec or Minitest.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring abilities.
