Job Title: Sustainability Data Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sustainability Data Officer to join our team.

About the Role

The Sustainability Data Officer will play a key role in supporting our organization's goal of reducing carbon emissions across its operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting, checking, and analyzing carbon emission data from multiple offices.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in science, math, or another subject requiring regular data handling. They will also possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support quarterly carbon emissions and financial data reporting and quality checks with country offices.
  • Analyze carbon emissions hot spots and actions.
  • Maintain user-friendly spreadsheets and data reports for country offices.
  • Develop dashboards and analytical tools.
  • Document methodologies and processes.
  • Support automating data collection and calculations.
  • Update carbon conversion factors annually.
  • Research data for supply chain evaluations annually.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • BSc degree or equivalent level of professional experience in science, maths, or another subject requiring regular data handling.
  • Desirable: programming, AI, finance, Monitoring and Evaluation qualifications.
  • At least 3 years of working with implementing and maintaining data systems as part of research protocols or program evaluation.
  • Demonstrable interest in continual learning and staying up-to-date with latest developments.
  • Track record of publishing and communicating results and progress.
  • Using dataset to identify, analyze, and forecast patterns and trends.
  • Experience developing dashboards and automated data entry and diagnostic tools.
