US Tax Officer

Position Title: US Taxation Officer Timings: This is a part-time hybrid position, requiring 45 hours of work between 4:00 PM 1:00 AM. Our Finance & Taxation team plays a key role in ensuring compliance with US tax laws, optimizing financial performance, and supporting strategic decision-making.Position Purpose:We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Jr. US Taxation officer to manage end-to-end accounting operations from recording transactions to preparing accurate financial reports. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in US accounting standards (US GAAP) and a strong background in bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, and tax compliance.Education & Professional Qualification:Degree(s)/Major(s): Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field from a reputed local or foreign university.CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification in progress or preferred (not mandatory but a plus).Experience:1-2 years of experience in US taxation, accounting, or related financial compliance roles.Responsibilities: Manage the full cycle of accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records.Handle accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.Independently support tax preparation and filing activities in compliance with U.S. tax laws and regulations.Handle tax return preparation and filing for individuals and/or businesses.Review and verify tax deduction rates to ensure accuracy and compliance.Conduct tax compliance checks and maintain proper documentationProvide tax advisory support on U.S. taxation mattersStay updated on recent US tax law changes, state-specific requirements, and best practices in tax reporting.Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and automation in tax operations. Requirements:Basic knowledge of US tax regulations, forms, and compliance requirements (e.g., 1040, 1065, 1120, 1120S).Proficiency with tax preparation and accounting software (e.g., Intuit ProConnect, Lacerte, QuickBooks, or similar).Strong analytical and numerical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting principles.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, MicrosoftDynamics, Xero, or similar).Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.Familiarity with MS Office Suite (especially Excel) and cloud-based financial tools.Commitment to confidentiality and adherence to ethical standards in handling financial data.
