The Opportunity

Modern Accountant.
​This role is a unique blend of core accounting, tech implementation, and digital communication. You will be a key player in our team, responsible for maintaining impeccable financial records for our clients while also helping to build our brand and streamline our operations through modern tools and media.

What Your Day Will Look Like (Key Responsibilities)
Core Accounting & Compliance:
​Manage end-to-end bookkeeping for a diverse portfolio of clients using Xero, QuickBooks and similar software.

​Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other statutory filings accurately and on time.

​Perform detailed account reconciliations to ensure the integrity of financial data.

​Prepare high-quality work papers, financial statements, and year-end reports.

​Prepare individual, sole trader, partnership, company, and trust tax returns.

​Conduct thorough tax research to provide accurate advice and ensure compliance.

Modern Operations & Advisory:
​Actively manage client relationships and workflows within our CRM, ensuring all data, tags, and processes are meticulously maintained.

Manage data integrity and client communication through our proprietary mobile application.

​Design and implement digital forms to streamline data collection from clients, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.

​Manage and respond to client data submitted through multiple online platforms.

Prepare insightful business advisory reports, including client benchmarking and performance analysis, to provide actionable suggestions for improving profitability.

​Maintain organised and secure client files using Google Drive.

​Actively participate in virtual client meetings, contributing to discussions and building strong relationships.

Content & Communication:
​Translate complex tax and business concepts into accessible, engaging content.

​Record and share short educational videos on our social media platforms when you learn or solve something interesting.

​Embody our firm's voice as a knowledgeable and approachable expert in the digital space.

What We're Looking For (Skills & Qualifications)
​
Essential:
​Proven, hands-on expertise with both Xero and QuickBooks.

​Qualified with an internationally recognised degree or certification (e.g., University of London BSc in Accounting and Finance, ACCA, or equivalent).

​Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills, with an ability to explain complex topics clearly and concisely.

​Strong tax research skills and a solid understanding of Australian tax principles.

A tech-savvy mindset with the demonstrated ability to quickly learn and master new software (e.g., CRM, tax planning, business advisory tools).

​Full proficiency in the G Suite ecosystem, particularly Google Drive, Sheets, Slides and Docs.

The "Modern" Edge We Need:
​Experience in creating or managing digital forms for data collection.

​Familiarity with CRM principles for managing client pipelines and communication.

​A genuine interest in social media and digital marketing.

​Confidence and a willingness to be on camera to record short, informative videos. You don't need to be a professional influencer, just authentic and not shy
