Role Description

As an Offshore Staff Accountant, you will support day‑to‑day accounting, compliance, and reporting for a portfolio of UK/Irish clients. You'll work closely with senior team members to maintain ledgers, prepare filings, and produce high‑quality financial statements in line with relevant frameworks and timelines. Additionally, the role will involve compliance management, preparing tax returns, and supporting financial audits. The selected candidate will collaborate with team members to ensure the timely and accurate completion of all accounting-related activities.

Qualifications

  • Accounting, Bookkeeping, and Financial Reporting skills
  • Tax Preparation and Compliance Management experience
  • Collaborate with onshore teams; manage priorities to meet deadlines
  • Process AP/AR cycles, bank reconciliations, and month‑end close tasks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns (UK/Irish), including EU VAT and VIES listings
  • Prepare working papers and schedules to support external reviews
  • Identify process improvements; document SOPs and checklists

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Part‑Qualified
    ACCA / CA / CIMA / CPA,
    actively progressing
    toward full qualification
  • Experience in a
    public practice
    environment;
    UK/Irish experience preferred
  • Strong proficiency with the
    Microsoft Office/365 suite
    (Excel, Word, Outlook; advanced Excel a plus).
  • Hands‑on Sage Accounting
    experience (e.g., bank feeds, reconciliations, VAT setup, reporting)
  • Working knowledge of
    payroll processing
    (UK/Irish desirable)
  • Demonstrated capability in
    preparing financial statements
    and month‑end packs
  • Solid understanding of
    VAT (UK/Irish), EU VAT, and VIES
    compliance
