The MEP Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) works at the project site. This includes ensuring that installations are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and project standards, while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervision and Coordination
- Supervise MEP activities including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting, and other building services.
- Coordinate with civil, architectural, and structural teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Review and interpret MEP drawings and specifications before implementation.
- Plan and allocate manpower, materials, and equipment efficiently for daily site activities.
2. Quality and Compliance
- Ensure that MEP installations conform to approved shop drawings, technical specifications, and project requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections and report non-conformities.
- Support QA/QC team in MEP inspections and testing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
3. Progress Monitoring and Reporting
- Monitor site progress and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Identify potential delays and coordinate with the project team to implement corrective actions.
- Assist in preparing as-built drawings and MEP documentation.
4. Coordination with Subcontractors and Suppliers
- Liaise with MEP subcontractors to ensure timely and quality work delivery.
- Coordinate for material inspection requests (MIR) and work inspection requests (WIR).
- Verify and monitor the installation of materials and equipment as per specifications.
5. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Ensure that all MEP works are executed in accordance with HSE standards and procedures.
- Conduct toolbox talks and promote safety awareness among site teams.
- Report unsafe practices and take immediate corrective measures.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering. - Experience:
6–10 years of experience in MEP supervision within construction projects (preferably commercial or infrastructure). - Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and MS Office.
- Strong problem-solving and coordination abilities.
