About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Resident Engineer – Networks with 8+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise network administration, cybersecurity practices, and IT infrastructure management. The selected professional will be responsible for ensuring uninterrupted network operations, implementing security controls, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain a secure and high-performing network environment.

The Resident Engineer will be responsible for ensuring high network availability, performance optimization, and seamless integration with third-party systems while maintaining strong security controls and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN, VPN, and wireless networks for optimal performance and security.
• Configure and administer network security features including Access Control Lists (ACLs) and firewall policies.
• Oversee third-party system integrations for connectivity with cloud platforms, security tools, and external applications.
• Manage IPv4 and IPv6 addressing schemes, subnetting, and routing configurations.
• Perform continuous monitoring and management of network health, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
• Implement and manage network security solutions, including firewalls (Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, etc.), IDS/IPS, and access control policies.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and system administration teams to integrate network security policies and ensure compliance.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for network incidents and develop preventive measures.
• Maintain and update network documentation and configurations.
• Manage routing and switching protocols (OSPF, BGP, VLANs, STP, etc.).
• Oversee L2 and L3 VPN configurations, IP address management, DNS, and DHCP services.
• Implement redundancy, load balancing, and failover mechanisms.
• Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• Support hybrid cloud networking (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
• Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with ISPs.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive professional with 8+ years of solid hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering, covering the design, configuration, security, and optimization of complex network infrastructures.
• Strong troubleshooting and critical-thinking abilities.
• Proven experience in managing secure, redundant, and scalable networks.
• The ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
• A continuous learning mindset with awareness of emerging technologies (SDN, Zero Trust, SASE).
• Professional maturity and accountability in handling mission-critical operations.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in enterprise network design, deployment, and management.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, IPV4/IPV6, ACL, routing, switching, firewalls and third-party integrations.
• Deep understanding of protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VLAN, SNMP, and DNS.
• Experience with Fortinet, Cisco, or Juniper solutions.
• Proficiency in network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark, etc.).
• Knowledge of VPN, MPLS, SD-WAN, and network segmentation.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001 and NIST security frameworks.
• Scripting or automation experience (Python, PowerShell, or Ansible) is a plus.

• CCNP / CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Professional/Associate)
• Fortinet NSE4 or higher
• CompTIA Network+ / Security+
• Juniper JNCIS-ENT / JNCIP-SEC
• Azure or AWS Networking Specialty Certification
