GrocerApp is building Pakistan's most efficient instant e-grocery delivery network — connecting customers to fresh, high-quality groceries in under 60 minutes. We're now expanding our fresh produce operations and looking for someone passionate about fruits, vegetables, and quality sourcing.

Role Overview

We're hiring a Fresh Produce Procurement Associate responsible for daily buying, quality sorting, and coordination with local vendors and suppliers for fruits and vegetables. The role is hands-on and field-based — ideal for someone who understands market dynamics and quality control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visit local markets (e.g., Badami Bagh, Shah Alam, etc.) daily to purchase fruits and vegetables.
  • Ensure best quality at optimal prices by negotiating with wholesalers and farmers.
  • Sort and grade produce before sending to darkstores / warehouse.
  • Maintain daily purchase logs, rates, and wastage reports.
  • Build strong relationships with reliable vendors and growers.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse and operations team to ensure timely supply and minimal spoilage.
  • Monitor market trends, seasonal changes, and price fluctuations.
  • Report to the Category/Procurement Manager on quality, supply issues, and opportunities for improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience in fruits/vegetable procurement or retail market buying.
  • Strong knowledge of local mandi system and produce quality assessment.
  • Good negotiation and communication skills.
  • Physically fit and comfortable with early morning market visits.
  • Basic reporting and documentation ability (Excel/WhatsApp reporting).
  • Reliable and trustworthy with attention to detail.
