Job Overview:
We are seeking a Merchants Onboarding Specialist who will guide new venues from the point of sale to full adoption of our platform. This role involves building strong relationships, collecting and organising merchant data, coordinating with internal teams for setup, and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience. The ideal candidate will combine sales acumen with operational and training skills, ensuring each merchant becomes a long-term, satisfied customer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and prospect potential restaurant and cafe clients in target markets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers and stakeholders.
- Present our platform's value proposition through demos, presentations, and meetings.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to close deals.
- Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Work with the marketing team to develop lead generation campaigns.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities in the CRM.
- Provide feedback from the market to improve our product offering.
- Guide merchants through the onboarding process, from contract signing to live operations.
- Collect venue details, menu data, and configuration requirements.
- Coordinate with internal teams (tech, support, and sales) to ensure timely setup.
- Train merchant staff on how to use the Egora platform effectively.
- Monitor merchant progress during the first 30–60 days to ensure smooth adoption.
- Troubleshoot onboarding issues and escalate when needed.
- Maintain accurate onboarding records in the CRM.
- Provide feedback to the product and sales teams based on merchant experience.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in customer success, onboarding, training, or account management, ideally in the hospitality or tech industry.
- Proven experience in sales, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets, ideally in the restaurant/cafe/hospitality industry.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation skills and a proven ability to close deals.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple merchants at once.
- Comfort with technology, including CRM software (HubSpot, Zoho, etc.) and online training tools.
- Experience with sales analytics tools.
- Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms.
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, results-driven, and proactive in problem-solving.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
