Key Responsibilities:

  • System Administration & Maintenance
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, Solution Manager, etc.).
  • Manage SAP instances, client copies, system refreshes, and transport management.
  • Apply SAP support packages, patches, and kernel upgrades.
  • Ensure high availability, performance tuning, and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Database & OS Management
  • Administer databases (HANA, Oracle, MS SQL, DB2, or others) supporting SAP systems.
  • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements.
  • Manage backups, restores, and system recoveries.
  • Security & Compliance
  • Implement and manage SAP security policies, user roles, and authorizations.
  • Ensure compliance with IT governance, SOX, and audit requirements.
  • Monitor system logs and safeguard data integrity.
  • Troubleshooting & Support
  • Provide 2nd/3rd-level support for SAP Basis issues.
  • Coordinate with SAP support (OSS notes, incidents) to resolve system problems.
  • Collaborate with functional consultants and developers to support system changes and transports.
  • Project Support & Documentation
  • Support SAP system migrations, upgrades, and implementations.
  • Prepare technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge transfer materials.
  • Participate in planning and execution of new SAP solutions and integrations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience (3–7+ years) as an SAP Basis Administrator.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP NetWeaver, S/4HANA, SAP Fiori, Solution Manager.
  • Experience with database administration (HANA, Oracle, MS SQL, DB2).
  • Proficiency in OS platforms (Linux, Unix, Windows).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and SAP Cloud solutions is a plus.
  • Good understanding of SAP security, transport management system, and performance tuning.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Certifications (Optional):

  • SAP Certified Technology Associate (Basis / HANA Administration).
  • ITIL certification for IT Service Management.
  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) beneficial.
