Company Overview:

Our Client, a Karachi based company, seeks to appoint experienced professionals for the following role:

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end deployment, integration, and commissioning of SCADA systems across terminals and depots
  • Design and manage TMS system & propose architectures for integrating multiple DCS systems (e.g., Siemens, ABB, SEL) into unified HMI platforms (e.g., WinCC, Ignition SCADA)
  • Integrate field instrumentation and automation devices i.e.: RTUs, PLCs, flow meters, transmitters, VFDs, MOVs using protocols like Modbus, IEC /104, DNP3, OPC UA/DA
  • Enable IT/OT convergence through secure communication interfaces (MQTT, APIs) and ensure seamless data exchange with ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
  • Develop technical specifications, assess vendor proposals, and support procurement processes, budget planning, and vendor negotiation
  • Oversee project execution including FAT/SAT, site commissioning & change management
  • Lead instrumentation and control systems design including loop testing, panel integration, field calibration, and server room infrastructure
  • Manage development of real-time HMI dashboards and reporting interfaces for operational visibility, alarms, and KPI tracking
  • Oversee data pipelines and visualization frameworks to enable automated stock reconciliation, and predictive analytics
  • Drive collaboration with cross-functional teams, Operations, Engineering, BPR, IT, Commercial for terminal automation initiatives
  • Support OT cybersecurity and ensure secure SCADA system configurations and network designs
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies such as IoT, AI/ML, edge computing, and cloud SCADA platforms

Education

  • Minimum 16 years of education, preferably Masters from a renowned and HEC recognized university or institution/equivalent foreign degree holder institution, preferably with majors in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related Engineering field.

Experience

  • Minimum 6-8 years of professional experience, preferably in a large national/multinational organization with at least 2-6 years of related functional experience in a similar role
  • Prior experience in the Oil & Gas, Utilities, or Processing/Manufacturing sectors is preferred

Requirements

  • Proven experience with SCADA/DCS systems, PLCs/RTUs, and field instrumentation (e.g., ATGs, VFDs, MOVs, weighbridges, Transducers)
  • Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols including Modbus, IEC 101/104, DNP3, OPC UA/DA, and Profibus
  • Hands-on expertise in real-time data acquisition, centralized monitoring, and system integration across multi-vendor environments
  • Solid understanding of automation system architecture, industrial networking, and smart device interfacing
  • Familiarity with data historians, IoT/edge computing, and virtualization such as Docker or VMs
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, coordinate stakeholders/vendors, and oversee technical documentation
  • Awareness of OT cybersecurity standards (NIST, NERC CIP) and relevant certifications (CEH, CISSP, CC) preferred
  • PMP or equivalent certification and SQL/Oracle database proficiency will be considered an advantage
