Job description

Position Overview:

The restaurant supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant to ensure efficient and high-quality service. They will lead and manage the front-of-house staff, maintain cleanliness and organization, uphold service standards, and contribute to a positive dining experience for guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:
  • Supervise and motivate front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts/hostesses, and bussers.
  • Train new employees on service procedures, menu knowledge, and customer service standards.
  • Conduct regular meetings to communicate expectations, discuss feedback, and address any issues or concerns.
  • Operations Management:
  • Ensure smooth operations during service hours, including seating arrangements, order taking, and table turnover.
  • Oversee reservations, walk-ins, and waitlist management to optimize seating and minimize wait times.
  • Monitor inventory levels of supplies such as utensils, tableware, and condiments, and place orders as needed.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely preparation and delivery of food orders.
  • Customer Service:
  • Interact with guests to ensure a positive dining experience and promptly address any concerns or complaints.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while handling customer inquiries and special requests.
  • Monitor service quality, cleanliness, and ambiance throughout the restaurant to uphold brand standards.
  • Administrative Tasks:
  • Assist with scheduling shifts, managing labor costs, and maintaining employee records.
  • Prepare daily reports on sales, labor, and inventory usage for management review.
  • Collaborate with the management team on menu planning, promotions, and marketing initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • minimum 2 to3 years of experience within the restaurant industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coach team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional certifications or training in hospitality management are a plus.
