Makcomms Recruitment Services is partnering with a leading dairy organization to hire an accomplished international dairy leader. This is a unique opportunity to lead end-to-end operations across dairy farming and processing – driving innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable growth.

Position Overview

The Divisional Head of Dairy & Processing / COO will strategically lead and integrate farm operations with processing functions. The role combines operational leadership with product development expertise, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and expansion into value-added products.

Key Responsibilities

Farm Operations:

  • Oversee herd health, nutrition, breeding, and milk production (large-scale herd).
  • Ensure compliance with global standards of animal welfare, hygiene, and biosecurity.
  • Optimize productivity through modern dairy farm management practices and technology adoption.

Processing Operations:

  • Lead end-to-end processing of pasteurized milk and a portfolio of dairy products (cheese, yogurts, flavored milk, butter, desserts).
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality, food safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Drive efficiency, yield improvement, and cost optimization.
  • Spearhead product innovation and commercialization of value-added dairy products.

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a unified strategy for farming and processing divisions.
  • Establish KPIs for operational excellence.
  • Identify new markets, product lines, and partnership opportunities.
  • Build, mentor, and lead multidisciplinary teams.

External Relations:

  • Engage with regulators, industry associations, and government bodies.
  • Build supplier and distributor networks for raw milk and value-added products.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:
Degree in Dairy Science, Animal Husbandry, Food Technology, Agri-Business, or related fields. Advanced degrees (MBA, MSc, PhD) preferred.

Experience:

  • 15–20 years of international experience in integrated dairy farming & processing.
  • Proven leadership in managing large-scale dairy farms (2,000+ herd) and processing facilities.
  • Track record of launching and scaling value-added dairy products.

Skills:

  • Strong commercial and operational acumen.
  • Expertise in modern dairy farming, processing technologies, and supply chain.
  • Cross-cultural leadership and ability to transfer global best practices.
  • Experience working in emerging markets.
