Grand City is looking for a
Senior Resident Engineer
to manage infrastructure and building development projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, site management experience, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Supervision & Execution

  • Supervise daily site construction works (roads, sewerage, drainage, utilities, and building works).
  • Ensure adherence to project drawings, specifications, and design standards.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to resolve technical/site issues.
  • Monitor progress against project schedules and recommend corrective actions.

2. Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance

  • Review and verify structural drawings, BOQs, shop drawings, bar bending schedules, and material submittals.
  • Ensure compliance with design codes (ACI, ASTM, AASHTO, BS, or local standards).
  • Conduct inspections for concrete works, reinforcements, shuttering, backfilling, road subgrade, and asphalt works.
  • Test and approve materials (steel, cement, aggregates, asphalt, etc.) to ensure quality compliance.

3. Contract & Documentation Management

  • Ensure contractor compliance with contract terms, project specifications, and work procedures.
  • Verify interim payment certificates, variation orders, and claims from contractors.
  • Maintain daily site records, progress reports, and documentation.

4. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Ensure strict compliance with safety protocols and environmental guidelines.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and enforce PPE compliance.
  • Report and resolve safety incidents immediately.

5. Stakeholder Coordination

  • Act as the key technical representative between client, consultants, and contractors.
  • Attend site meetings and prepare progress reports for management.
  • Provide technical input and recommendations for design modifications when required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • Valid
    PEC Registration (must-have).
  • 4–6 years of experience in infrastructure and building projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project management, and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
