Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Development and Implementation

• Design, review, and oversee the Social Science curriculum, ensuring alignment with national standards, global best practices, and the institution's educational objectives.
• Integrate inquiry-based learning, project-based approaches, and innovative teaching methodologies to enhance student engagement and critical thinking.
• Ensure curriculum content reflects diversity, cultural awareness, and contemporary social issues to prepare students for a globalized world.

Faculty Support and Development

• Provide academic leadership, guidance, and mentorship to Social Science faculty, fostering continuous professional growth.
• Organize and facilitate training workshops, professional learning communities, and development sessions on pedagogy, content knowledge, and new research in the field.
• Observe classroom practices and provide constructive feedback to ensure teaching quality and consistency.

Assessment and Evaluation

• Develop and implement subject-specific assessments to evaluate student learning outcomes effectively.
• Analyze assessment data to identify trends, learning gaps, and opportunities for instructional improvement.
• Collaborate with teachers to design differentiated assessment strategies that cater to diverse learning needs.

Resource Management

• Identify, source, and manage teaching resources, including textbooks, digital tools, and supplementary materials, to enrich the teaching-learning process.
• Ensure effective utilization and upkeep of resources to support impactful classroom delivery.

Collaboration and Communication

• Collaborate with other subject leads and the academic leadership team to promote interdisciplinary teaching and holistic education.
• Conduct regular departmental meetings to discuss challenges, share best practices, and align strategies for continuous improvement.
• Act as a liaison between faculty, leadership, and parents to maintain transparent communication regarding academic goals and progress.

Student Support and Engagement

• Monitor student progress in Social Sciences, addressing individual academic needs through additional support or enrichment opportunities.
• Encourage participation in debates, Model UN, research projects, field trips, and other extracurricular activities related to Social Sciences.
• Cultivate student interest in civic engagement, history, geography, political science, and cultural studies.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors's degree or higher in Education, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4–8 years of teaching and academic leadership experience in Social Sciences.
• Strong background in curriculum design, instructional leadership, and assessment practices.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor faculty, lead initiatives, and foster innovation in teaching.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
