The Chef will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, and supervising kitchen staff. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for food, creativity in developing new dishes, and strong leadership skills. The Chef will ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and update menus with new or existing dishes ensuring variety and quality.
- Direct and oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Manage kitchen staff, providing training and mentorship to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared according to recipe and presentation standards.
- Monitor food stock and make orders as needed, ensuring cost control and minimizing waste.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with management on menu development, special events, and promotions.
- Handle customer feedback with professionalism, making improvements as necessary.
- Keep up to date with culinary trends and integrate them into the menu.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Chef or relevant role.
- Culinary degree or equivalent training.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
- Excellent leadership and management skills.
- Creativity and ability to develop new recipes.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen sanitation practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina to handle long shifts and busy hours.
Skills and Competencies:
