The Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing goods and services for the organization at competitive prices and ensuring the timely delivery of quality materials. This role involves managing supplier relationships, evaluating vendors, and coordinating with internal departments to meet purchasing needs in alignment with company policies and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies in alignment with company goals.
  • Identify potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish supplier agreements.
  • Obtain and analyze quotations, proposals, and bids.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, invoices, and other procurement documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast demand and plan purchases accordingly.
  • Ensure procurement practices comply with legal and ethical standards.
  • Assist in managing inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
  • Prepare regular procurement reports and updates for management.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends and changes in supply conditions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Procurement Officer or similar role (typically 2–3 years).
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems).
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to procurement and contracts.
