Junior Embedded Systems Engineer (Defense & Integration)

Job Summary:

We seek a skilled junior Embedded Systems Engineer to design, develop, and integrate real-time embedded solutions for mission-critical defense applications. This role involves working with microcontrollers, sensors, embedded GPUs, FPGAs, and real-time systems, focusing strongly on Embedded Linux, RTOS, and hardware-software integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop embedded software and firmware using C, C++, Python, and optionally Rust or Assembly.
  • Work with Embedded Linux (Yocto, Buildroot, Kernel Development, Device Tree Configuration) and RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, VxWorks).
  • Develop firmware for microcontrollers, embedded GPUs, DSPs, and FPGAs, ensuring real-time performance and optimization.
  • Implement low-level drivers, middleware, bootloaders, and secure boot mechanisms.
  • Develop and integrate real-time control systems with sensors, actuators, and high-speed communication interfaces.
  • Work with communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS485, Ethernet, PCIe, and USB.
  • Optimize real-time processing, power efficiency, and memory management for embedded systems.
  • Debug and troubleshoot hardware-software interactions using JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and embedded debugging tools.
  • Ensure cybersecurity, encryption, and secure firmware development for embedded defense systems.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers for PCB design, system integration, and validation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related field to Embedded Systems

  • *Fresh or 1 years of experience in embedded system design, development, and integration.*
  • Proficiency in C and C++; deep experience with Python, Linux, Rust, or Assembly.
  • Strong expertise in Embedded Linux development (drivers, kernel modules, file systems, debugging).
  • Experience with RTOS-based and bare-metal programming.
  • Hands-on experience with embedded GPUs (NVIDIA Jetson, Qualcomm, etc.) and high-performance computing.
  • Strong background in hardware schematics, PCB designing and concepts, and debugging embedded hardware.
  • Familiarity with safety-critical and defense-grade standards (DO-178C, MIL-STD-810, ISO
  • Experience in AI/ML acceleration for embedded platforms (TensorRT, CUDA, OpenCV) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with sensor fusion, autonomous systems, and real-time control applications.
  • Understanding of FPGA-based processing and hardware acceleration.
  • Knowledge of secure firmware development, cryptographic security, and trusted execution environments.
  • Familiarity with ROS (Robot Operating System) for embedded robotics applications.
