Role Overview

The Shipping Manager will oversee all international shipping operations, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of goods from Pakistan to overseas markets (mainly US, UK, Australia & Canada). The role requires strong knowledge of export documentation, customs regulations, international freight procedures, and coordination with suppliers, freight forwarders, and regulatory bodies. The Shipping Manager will also monitor logistics costs, negotiate shipping rates, and resolve shipment-related issues to ensure seamless global distribution.

Key Responsibilities

Export Operations & Shipment Management

• Plan, organize, and manage daily shipping operations for international orders.
• Monitor inventory levels of shipping supplies and packaging materials to prevent any operational disruptions.
• Arrange booking of cargo space with freight forwarders, airlines, shipping lines, and courier companies.
• Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and handling of goods to meet international shipping standards.
• Oversee loading processes to guarantee the safe handling of packaged goods.
• Track shipments from dispatch to delivery; proactively resolve delays or discrepancies.
• Coordinate with production and operations teams to align shipment schedules with order deadlines.
• Collaborate with production, sales, and operations teams to prioritize shipments and schedule them effectively.

Export Documentation & Compliance

• Prepare and verify all export documents including:
• Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading/Airway Bill.
• Certificate of Origin, Form-E, Export Contract.
• Insurance certificates and other trade-related documents.
• Ensure compliance with Pakistan Customs, FBR, TDAP, E-Form submission, and importing country regulations.
• Liaise with courier companies.
• Maintain complete export records for audits, compliance, and reporting.

Freight Handling, Negotiation & Cost Management

• Negotiate freight rates with forwarders, carriers, and couriers to optimize cost and service.
• Coordinate with courier companies i.e. DHL, UPS, FedEx, freight forwarders (Express, AIR cargo and Sea) for international shipments and compliance
• Prepare and enhance system with changing tariff, duties and regulations
• Monitor freight invoices, demurrage/detention charges, and resolve variations.
• Analyze logistics costs and recommend cost-saving measures without compromising quality.

Customer & Stakeholder Coordination

• Handle shipment-related queries, complaints, or claims professionally and promptly.
• Build strong relationships with shipping partners, agents, and logistics providers.

Team & Process Management

• Lead and supervise shipping/dispatch staff ensuring compliance with company SOPs.
• Implement and improve shipping processes for efficiency and accuracy.
• Train staff on export documentation, customs requirements, and handling procedures.

Reporting & KPIs

• Generate weekly/monthly shipment reports (on-time delivery, costs, delays, damages).
• Monitor KPIs such as:
• On-time shipment %
• Cost per shipment
• Destination duties and taxes
• Customs clearance time
• Freight claim resolution rate

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in international shipping/export operations.
• Strong knowledge of Pakistan and International Customs rules, export procedures, trade regulations, and INCOTERMS.
• Hands-on experience with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs clearance.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and logistics management systems.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

• Certification in Supply Chain / International Trade (e.g., APICS, FIATA).
• Experience in handling shipments for multiple regions (e.g., US, UK, Canada, Australia).
• Knowledge of import regulations in major export markets.

Pay: Up to Rs150,000.00 per month
