Quality Assurance Officer – Ceramic Industry

Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance Officer will be responsible for ensuring that all ceramic manufacturing processes and final products meet established quality standards. This role requires close monitoring of each stage of production, from molding to final firing, as well as comprehensive inspection of finished goods. The incumbent will play a key role in maintaining product integrity, minimizing defects, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and evaluate the six primary stages of ceramic production:

1. Moulding

2. Materials preparation (slip and glaze mixtures)

3. Casting of Moulds

4. Drying of green ware

5. Glazing of green ware

6. Firing in kiln

Conduct inspections and quality checks at each stage to identify and address any deviations from standards.

Perform final product inspections to ensure compliance with internal specifications and industry requirements.

Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance procedures, checklists, and documentation.

Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality-related issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, defects, and process improvements.

Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental compliance standards.

Provide guidance and support to production staff on quality assurance best practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Industrial or chemical Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).

7-10 years of relevant experience in quality assurance, preferably within the Ceramics, Sanitary ware, or related manufacturing industries.

Strong knowledge of production processes, materials, and quality control methodologies.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Proven ability to work in a factory environment and conduct hands-on inspections.
