Job Description:

We are seeking a fully qualified ACCA accountant with strong expertise in UK accounting standards, taxation, and bookkeeping. The ideal candidate must currently be working with UK-based clients and should be able to work independently on an ad-hoc basis. This role requires in-depth knowledge of UK accounts, tax, VAT, payroll, and personal tax returns, along with advanced MS Excel skills for financial reporting and analysis.

Experience with US clients and/or holding a US accounting qualification (e.g., CPA) will be considered a strong plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle accounting for UK-based clients, including bookkeeping, accounts preparation, and financial reporting
  • Prepare and file VAT returns, personal tax returns, and other statutory submissions in compliance with UK regulations
  • Handle payroll processing and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements
  • Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and reconciliations
  • Prepare management accounts, financial statements, and cash flow reports
  • Create detailed financial reports and analytics in MS Excel, including models, pivot tables, and charts
  • Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial data
  • Coordinate directly with clients, ensuring professional and effective communication
  • Work independently and manage multiple tasks/projects efficiently

Requirements:

  • Fully ACCA qualified accountant (mandatory)
  • Proven experience working with UK-based clients (current and past)
  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards, VAT, payroll, and personal tax returns
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, including financial modeling and reporting
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or other relevant tools)
  • Ability to work independently and on an ad-hoc/remote basis
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills
  • Bonus: Experience working with US clients and/or CPA qualification

Qualifications:

  • ACCA qualified (essential)
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Demonstrated success in UK bookkeeping, tax compliance, and financial reporting
  • US accounting knowledge/qualification will be a plus
