Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation of high-quality 3D models, textures, and assets, setting the standard for the art team.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior and intermediate 3D artists, reviewing their work and offering constructive feedback. Mentor and guide junior artists, providing feedback.
  • Collaborate with the Art Director and other department leads to define and maintain the game's artistic vision and style guide.
  • Optimize 3D assets for performance within the game engine, ensuring they meet technical requirements without compromising visual quality.
  • Develop and improve art pipelines and workflows to increase team efficiency.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Art, Animation, Game Design, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a 3D Artist in the gaming or animation industry.
  • Advanced Artistic Skills: A superior eye for form, composition, color theory, and lighting.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: The ability to lead by example, motivate a team, and effectively share knowledge.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong creative and technical problem-solving skills to overcome complex production challenges.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex artistic and technical concepts.
  • Adaptability: The ability to stay current with new tools, technologies, and industry trends.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates a mastery of a wide range of 3D art skills and a track record of shipping games, preferably including at least one AAA title.
  • Expertise in industry-standard 3D modeling software (e.g., Maya, Blender, ZBrush) and texturing software (e.g., Substance Painter).
  • Deep understanding of real-time rendering, PBR (Physically Based Rendering) workflows, and game engines like Unreal Engine or Unity.
