We're hiring a senior engineer to own our payments domain end-to-end: onboarding clinics with
Stripe Connect
, building resilient payment flows, and supporting multiple PSPs behind a single interface. You'll design for failure (retries, queues/streams), keep webhooks idempotent, and make payouts/reconciliation boring and reliable. Experience with is a plus, but this role is primarily
backend/payments
.

What you'll do

  • Implement and maintain
    Stripe Connect
    (onboarding, transfers, platform fees) and extend to additional PSPs as we expand to new regions.
  • Design a clean abstraction for
    multi-PSP
    support (think strategy/factory pattern) so regions can switch providers with minimal code changes.
  • Build
    reliable webhooks
    with signature verification and strict
    idempotency
    , plus DLQs/queues for recovery when providers are down.
  • Work with a
    multi-tenant
    Postgres setup; collaborate with the product team on long-horizon payment plans (installments) for clinics.
  • Partner with frontend teams ) where needed; educate teams on payment patterns and operational runbooks.

Must-have

  • 4–7+ years professional experience (5+ preferred) in backend or full-stack roles with
    payment gateways
    .
  • Stripe (preferably Stripe Connect)
    in production (onboarding connected accounts, transfers, fees).
  • Strong SQL/Postgres,
    webhooks + idempotency
    , background jobs/queues (e.g., BullMQ, SQS, RabbitMQ, Kafka).
  • API design, secure credential handling, and production incident playbooks.
  • You are a
    permanent Karachi resident
    and can work PK business hours.

Nice-to-have

  • Multi-provider payments (Stripe + another PSP) behind a single interface.
  • Experience with
    14
    (server components/hydration basics) for collaborating with app teams.
  • Multi-tenant SaaS experience (billing, settlements, reconciliation).
