Job Description – Head of Software Engineering

As the Head of Software Engineering, you will lead the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of innovative software solutions tailored to client needs. You will oversee a dynamic team of engineers, AI specialists, and solution architects—driving technical excellence, innovation, and operational efficiency across all projects.

This role demands a proactive leader with deep technical expertise, strong client engagement skills, and the ability to align technology initiatives with business goals. You will play a key role in defining solution proposals, leading technical discussions, and ensuring the successful execution of scalable and impactful software systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a cross-functional engineering team delivering custom software and AI-driven solutions.
  • Collaborate with sales, presales, and project management teams to define and deliver client-focused technical proposals.
  • Translate business challenges into scalable, secure, and high-performing software strategies.
  • Oversee architecture design, code quality, and delivery standards, ensuring adherence to best practices and agile methodologies.
  • Drive continuous improvement in performance, scalability, and user experience through innovation and feedback.
  • Partner with clients to present solutions, provide technical clarity, and ensure stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Manage engineering capacity, project timelines, and resource planning to ensure efficiency and quality outcomes.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies to drive AI integration, automation, and modernization across software systems.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and accountability within the engineering team.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in software development, with 3+ years in a leadership role managing technical teams.
  • Proven experience in custom software solution development and managing AI or automation projects.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP), and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.
  • Demonstrated success in leading projects from conception to delivery, ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.
  • A go-getter mindset with strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and decision-making abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading AI/ML-driven product development or automation solutions.
  • Exposure to enterprise software architecture and third-party integrations.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI/CD environments.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align technical strategy with organizational objectives.
