Job Title: Sales & Application Specialist – NGS (Agriculture)

Job Summary

The Sales and Application Specialist for NGS (Agriculture) is responsible for driving sales growth and providing technical support for NGS solutions used in crop genomics, soil microbiome analysis, livestock genetics, and agricultural biotechnology. The role combines consultative sales with hands-on application support to help agri-research institutes, seed companies, and universities adopt NGS technologies effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Sales

  • Achieve sales targets for NGS products in the agriculture sector.
  • Identify and develop business opportunities in seed companies, research institutes, and agri-biotech labs.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships through visits, meetings, and presentations.
  • Understand customer workflows and recommend suitable NGS solutions.
  • Collaborate with marketing and internal teams to execute territory plans.
  • Manage pipeline and negotiate pricing within company guidelines.

Application Support

  • Provide pre- and post-sales technical support for NGS platforms, reagents, and workflows.
  • Conduct demos, trainings, and seminars for plant, soil, and livestock genomics applications.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to sample prep, library prep, sequencing, and data analysis.
  • Support customer onboarding and workflow validation.
  • Coordinate with global support teams for advanced troubleshooting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agricultural Biotechnology, Plant Genomics, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related field.
  • 2–5 years' experience in NGS or agricultural genomics (sales or application experience preferred).
  • Solid understanding of NGS applications: crop sequencing, microbiome analysis, GMO testing, genotyping, etc.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel 60–70%.
