Job Purpose

To manage and execute all financial operations related to
Letter of Credit (LC) opening
,
running finance facilities
, and associated banking transactions. The role requires expertise in liaising with banks, optimizing financial arrangements, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting the organization's trade and operational financing needs.

Key Responsibilities
1. LC (Letter of Credit) Management

• Initiate, prepare, and process LC applications in coordination with suppliers, banks, and internal departments.
• Review LC terms & conditions to ensure compliance with company policies and trade requirements.
• Negotiate favorable LC terms with banks to optimize costs and timelines.
• Monitor LC timelines, shipment schedules, and payment deadlines.
• Resolve LC-related discrepancies with banks, suppliers, and freight forwarders.

2. Running Finance Management

• Manage running finance facilities and ensure optimal utilization to support working capital requirements.
• Maintain updated records of finance limits, mark-up rates, and repayment schedules.
• Coordinate with banks to renew, enhance, or restructure running finance facilities.
• Ensure timely payment of mark-up and principal amounts to avoid penalties.

3. Banking & Financial Coordination

• Act as the primary liaison with commercial banks for trade finance and working capital matters.
• Maintain strong relationships with banking officials to ensure smooth transaction handling.
• Keep track of foreign exchange rates, bank charges, and financing terms to optimize cost efficiency.

4. Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure compliance with SBP (State Bank of Pakistan) regulations and other relevant trade finance laws.
• Maintain complete and accurate financial records for audit and reporting purposes.
• Prepare and submit required financial reports to management and regulatory bodies.

5. Strategic & Advisory Role

• Advise management on financial risk assessment related to trade finance.
• Recommend strategies to improve cash flow and reduce financing costs.
• Analyze trade finance trends to propose better banking arrangements.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education
  : Master's / Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• Experience
  : 5+ years in trade finance, LC handling, and running finance management.
• Technical Skills
  :
• Strong understanding of LC procedures, UCP 600 rules, and SBP regulations.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Knowledge of import/export documentation.
• Soft Skills
  :
• Strong negotiation skills with banks and financial institutions.
• Attention to detail and analytical mindset.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Timely LC openings and amendments without discrepancies.
• Optimal utilization of running finance with minimal idle funds.
• Reduction in financing costs through favorable banking terms.
• Zero non-compliance issues with SBP or other regulatory bodies.
