Job Title: Senior Extrusion Machine OperatorJob Summary

The Senior Extrusion Machine Operator is responsible for leading extrusion line operations, ensuring smooth production flow, and achieving quality and productivity targets. This role includes machine setup, troubleshooting, maintenance oversight, and supervising junior operators and helpers. The Senior Operator ensures compliance with safety standards and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the setup, calibration, and operation of extrusion machinery (cast line, blown film, sheet, or other).
• Supervise, guide, and train junior operators and helpers to ensure correct procedures and best practices.
• Monitor extrusion parameters (temperature, pressure, speed, cooling) and make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality and efficiency.
• Inspect raw materials and finished products, ensuring compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve process or machine issues to minimize downtime.
• Oversee preventive and routine maintenance, coordinating with the maintenance team as needed.
• Maintain accurate production reports, machine logs, and quality control records.
• Ensure safety standards are strictly followed and promote a culture of safe work practices on the shop floor.
• Support continuous improvement efforts to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
• Communicate effectively with production supervisors, maintenance staff, and quality control teams.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Minimum Intermediate; Diploma (DAE Mechanical / Electrical / Polymer) preferred.
• Experience: 4–6 years of proven experience in extrusion machine operation, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of extrusion processes (e.g., plastic, sheet, film, or cast line).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, SOPs, and production specifications.
• Skilled in using measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
• Knowledge of troubleshooting and machine maintenance.
• Soft Skills:
• Leadership and team supervision abilities.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Good communication and reporting ability.
• High attention to detail and quality standards.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to work in noisy, hot environments, stand for long periods, and handle moderate lifting.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing plant setting, involving rotational shifts (day/night).
• Requires use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
• Exposure to noise, heat, and heavy machinery.
