Assistant Extrusion machine operator

Job Purpose:

To assist the Extrusion Machine Operator in setting up, operating, and maintaining extrusion machines, ensuring smooth production, product quality, and compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in machine setup, start-up, and shutdown procedures.
  • Support the main operator in monitoring machine parameters (temperature, speed, pressure, etc.).
  • Feed raw materials into the extrusion machine as per production requirements.
  • Perform splicing, threading, and trimming tasks during operations.
  • Ensure continuous supply of raw materials and packing materials to avoid production stoppage.
  • Check product quality (thickness, width, surface finish) and report abnormalities.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area and follow 5S & housekeeping standards.
  • Assist in minor troubleshooting and inform senior operator/maintenance in case of breakdowns.
  • Follow all safety guidelines while handling machines and materials.
  • Maintain production records and assist in shift handover.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Minimum Matric / Intermediate (Technical diploma preferred).
  • 1–2 years of experience in an extrusion/production environment (fresh candidates may be considered as helper/trainee).

Skills & Competencies:

  • Basic knowledge of extrusion process and machinery.
  • Ability to use measuring tools (vernier, micrometer, etc.).
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physically fit to handle manual work and long shifts.
  • Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
