We are seeking an experienced
Senior Upwork Bidder
to manage and grow our business pipeline through Upwork and other freelancing platforms. The candidate will be responsible for identifying opportunities, preparing compelling proposals, managing client communications, and ensuring successful project acquisition. This role requires a deep understanding of Upwork's ecosystem, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams for successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Bidding
- Identify suitable projects on Upwork and other freelancing portals that align with company services.
- Write persuasive, customized, and professional proposals to maximize project conversion rates.
- Develop bidding strategies to target high-value clients and long-term contracts.
- Track, analyze, and optimize bidding success rates.
Client Communication & Relationship Management
- Interact with potential clients to understand requirements, negotiate terms, and build strong relationships.
- Conduct initial discovery calls, clarify project scope, and set expectations.
- Ensure timely responses to client queries and maintain professional communication throughout the sales cycle.
- Collaborate with the delivery team to prepare accurate project estimates and timelines.
Collaboration & Coordination
- Work closely with project managers, technical leads, and designers/developers to prepare winning proposals.
- Align bidding strategies with company goals and service capabilities.
- Provide feedback to the marketing and sales teams on market trends and client expectations.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain accurate records of proposals, bids, and conversions.
- Generate weekly/monthly reports on bidding performance and revenue contribution.
- Recommend improvements in bidding templates, pricing models, and client acquisition strategies.
- Mentor junior bidders and share best practices for effective client acquisition.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, IT, or related field.
- 5–7 years of proven experience in Upwork bidding or business development on freelancing platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft professional proposals.
- Strong understanding of IT services, or software development (depending on company domain).
- Ability to negotiate effectively and close deals with international clients.
- Proficiency in using Upwork tools, CRM, and project management platforms.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
