Upwork Lead Generation & Closer (Junior–Mid Level)

We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Upwork Lead Generation & Closer to help us identify, engage, and convert high-quality clients through Upwork and other freelancing platforms. The ideal candidate will be equally skilled at finding opportunities, crafting winning proposals, and closing deals that align with our services in web development, app development, and IT solutions.
You will be the frontline representative of our company on Upwork, responsible for maintaining a professional brand image, building client relationships, and securing projects that match our capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Generation: Identify and apply for high-potential projects daily on Upwork and other platforms (Freelancer, Guru, Fiverr, etc.).
- Proposal Writing & Personalization: Craft compelling, customized proposals that address client needs and stand out from competitors.
- Closing Deals: Communicate with potential clients, address objections, negotiate terms, and secure project agreements.
- Follow-Ups & Pipeline Management: Track active conversations, follow up consistently, and ensure no lead is left unattended.
- Profile Optimization: Manage and improve Upwork profile visibility, job filters, and proposal templates for higher win rates.
- Collaboration: Work closely with technical and sales teams to ensure accurate project scoping and pricing.
- Reporting: Maintain a daily/weekly log of proposals sent, responses, follow-ups, and closed deals.
- Market Research: Stay updated on Upwork trends, competition, and pricing strategies.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of proven experience in Upwork lead generation, bidding, or freelancing sales.
- Strong written English and business communication skills.
- Deep familiarity with Upwork's interface, bidding strategies, category tagging, and client engagement best practices.
- Ability to work independently, meet daily/weekly targets, and manage multiple leads simultaneously.
- Knowledge of web/app development services and ability to discuss them with clients confidently.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Business, or a related field.
Preferred Skills (Bonus)
- Prior experience closing deals in IT or software development services.
- Understanding of project pricing, estimation, and contract negotiation.
- Experience with Upwork profile management and rating improvement strategies.
- Familiarity with CRM tools and platforms like Trello, Slack, Notion, or ClickUp.
- Basic knowledge of SEO, marketing automation, or tech industry trends.
