Role Purpose

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth through the acquisition of new clients and the expansion of existing accounts. This role requires a commercially minded professional with proven expertise in design and marketing services, combined with strong capability in supporting integrated marketing and social media initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities to meet revenue targets.
  • Manage the full business development cycle: prospecting, qualification, proposal, negotiation, and closure.
  • Build and sustain long-term relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, marketing, and delivery teams to ensure client requirements are met to the highest standards.
  • Provide strategic input into the company's marketing and social media plans to enhance lead generation and brand visibility.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and client feedback to inform growth strategies.
  • Report on pipeline development, sales performance, and key account activity to senior leadership.

Performance Metrics / Targets

  • Acquire a minimum of
    6-10 new clients per quarter
    (dependent on project size/value).
  • Generate
    new business revenue annually

  • Maintain a
    conversion rate of at least 25–30%
    from qualified leads to closed business.
  • Contribute to a
    30% increase in inbound leads from social media campaigns within 6 months

  • Deliver
    10–15% year-on-year growth
    in revenue from existing accounts.

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated success in business development, sales, or account management within design, marketing, or related creative services.
  • Strong understanding of marketing and design principles, with the ability to communicate value to clients at a senior level.
  • Knowledge of social media marketing strategy and its role in business development.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
