Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electro-Optical Engineer
to design, develop, and integrate advanced optical and electro-optical subsystems for high-performance imaging, and sensing applications. This role requires end-to-end ownership of optical system design, electro-optical component integration, and validation of systems operating in challenging environments. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless mechanical, electrical, and software integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and simulate optical systems using tools such as
    Zemax, Code V, or equivalent software
    .
  • Develop and integrate electro-optical subsystems, including
    sensors, detectors, and imaging modules
    .
  • Perform optical tolerance, thermal, stray light, and system-level analyses.
  • Select optical materials, coatings, and IR-compatible components suitable for harsh environmental conditions.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electronics, and firmware teams for
    system-level integration
    .
  • Support prototyping, assembly, alignment, and calibration of optical and electro-optical hardware.
  • Conduct and support
    environmental testing
    (thermal, vibration, shock) for system qualification.
  • Provide technical expertise in
    sensor fusion, image processing, and tracking applications
    (preferred but not mandatory).

Qualifications:

  • B.S./M.S. in Optical Engineering, Electro-Optical Engineering, or related discipline
    .
  • Strong foundation in
    lens design, ray tracing, and optical simulation
    .
  • Hands-on experience with
    electro-optical sensors, detectors, and optical alignment techniques
    .
  • Familiarity with
    thermal, vibration, and shock testing
    for optical/electro-optical assemblies.
  • Experience in
    precision integration of optics with electronics and mechanical hardware
    .
  • Knowledge of
    IR materials, coatings, and imaging systems
    is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in
    multidisciplinary teams
    .
