Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated VoIP Engineer with 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in Asterisk-based PBX systems, VoIP technologies, and cloud-enabled UCaaS solutions. The ideal candidate is skilled in SIP protocols, VoIP architecture, and has a strong background in Linux systems, networking, and telephony automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support Asterisk PBX, IVR, and global call center environments.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in SIP voice protocols and cloud UCaaS solutions.
- Configure and optimize voice networks for best-in-class call quality and minimal latency.
- Maintain and enhance Quality of Service (QoS) across VoIP networks.
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot SMPP and API-based SMS communication systems.
- Implement VoIP security measures and ensure system redundancy and failover.
- Analyze system performance on Linux-based servers focusing on scalability, QoS, and high availability.
- Design and develop telephony-integrated applications for real-time monitoring and management.
- Write and maintain automation scripts using Python, PHP, Perl, Bash, etc.
- Stay updated with emerging VoIP technologies and drive innovation within the telephony infrastructure.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams to ensure service quality meets or exceeds SLAs.
- Troubleshoot complex VoIP, SIP, and interconnect issues with carriers and end-points.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Linux Proficiency: Strong system administration skills with Red Hat/CentOS, Ubuntu/Debian.
- Networking: Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and QoS in VoIP environments.
- VoIP Expertise: Hands-on experience with Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, OpenSIPS.
- Protocol Knowledge: SIP, RTP, RTCP, SDP, IAX, WebRTC (WS/WSS).
- Scripting & Automation: Strong scripting skills in Python, PHP, Perl, Bash.
- Database: Familiarity with MySQL and ability to write efficient SQL queries.
- Telephony Systems: In-depth knowledge of Asterisk features like AGI, ARI, queues, conferencing.
- SMPP: Experience working with SMPP protocol for SMS.
- Security: Understanding of VoIP security best practices and implementation.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities for network and VoIP issues.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Adaptability: Ability to keep pace with evolving technologies and changing business needs.
Nice to Have
- Experience with WebRTC-based voice and video technologies.
- Exposure to cloud-based UCaaS platforms (e.g., Twilio, RingCentral, 3CX, etc.).
- Familiarity with DevOps tools for CI/CD pipelines in telephony environments.
