Job Purpose:

The Assistant Manager IT (Hardware & Network) will be responsible for managing the company's IT infrastructure, with a strong focus on hardware systems and network operations. The role involves overseeing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT hardware, ensuring smooth and secure network connectivity, minimizing downtime, and supporting business continuity.

Key Responsibilities:

Hardware Management

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, servers, and peripherals.
  • Manage lifecycle of IT hardware including procurement, upgrades, and asset tracking.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance and timely replacement of faulty equipment.

Network Management

  • Manage LAN, WAN, VPN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  • Implement and manage network security protocols to safeguard company data.
  • Ensure proper network backups and disaster recovery preparedness.

IT Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide Level 2/3 technical support for hardware and network issues.
  • Resolve escalations from IT support staff promptly.
  • Document incidents and solutions to build a knowledge base.

Security & Compliance

  • Enforce IT security policies across hardware and network infrastructure.
  • Monitor for vulnerabilities and ensure patch management.
  • Ensure compliance with IT audit requirements and company policies.

Team & Vendor Coordination

  • Supervise IT support staff for daily troubleshooting tasks.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for procurement, AMC, and warranty services.
  • Negotiate cost-effective solutions for hardware and network requirements.

Key Deliverables:

  • Reliable IT hardware and network infrastructure with minimal downtime.
  • Accurate IT asset register and updated network documentation.
  • Compliance with IT security and audit standards.
  • Timely resolution of hardware and network-related issues.
  • Improved efficiency and user satisfaction with IT services.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or related field.
  • 4–6 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with hands-on expertise in hardware and network management.
  • Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, network security, firewalls, and switching/routing.
  • Experience in Windows/Linux server environments preferred.
  • Vendor management and team supervision experience will be an advantage.

Skills Required:

  • Strong hardware and network troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.
  • Knowledge of IT security standards and compliance.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
