
Category Manager

Job Purpose:
To drive category growth and profitability for Eastern wear by strategically managing product assortment, pricing, inventory, and launch timelines. The role ensures commercial success across all company platforms through sales optimization, margin improvement, inventory efficiency, and alignment with warehousing and logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Category & Commercial Management:
- Develop and execute category strategy in line with brand positioning and commercial goals.
- Monitor and deliver on key KPIs:
Sales Revenue

Gross Margin
,
Inventory Turnover (ITO)

Sell-through
. - Create assortment plans based on market trends, customer preferences, and sales analytics.
- Collaborate with design, production, and buying teams for timely development and launch of new collections.
Sales & Forecasting:
- Analyze historical sales data, current trends, and demand forecasts to set seasonal targets.
- Optimize pricing strategies and promotional calendar to meet revenue and margin targets.
- Drive digital growth through e-commerce merchandising, visibility planning, and campaign alignment.
Inventory & Launch Planning:
- Ensure timely induction of new collections aligned with product lifecycle and fashion calendar.
- Monitor inventory health; avoid stockouts and overstock through proactive planning.
- Implement markdown strategies for slow-moving SKUs to optimize ITO and working capital.
Logistics & Warehouse Oversight:
- Responsible for warehouse and logistics teams for smooth order fulfillment, inward/outward inventory, and dispatch planning.
- Ensure real-time inventory accuracy across systems and channels.
- Set and monitor SLAs for inbound/outbound shipments, return handling, and last-mile delivery performance.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with marketing for go-to-market (GTM) strategies and campaign planning.
- Liaise with finance for budgeting, forecasting, and category-wise profitability analysis.
- Coordinate with customer support to resolve product-related queries or issues impacting sales.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/Master's in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 3-4 years of relevant experience in category management, ideally in
fashion, retail, or e-commerce

Excel, ERP , Power BI
, and e-commerce platforms. - Excellent analytical, negotiation, and project management skills.
