Overview :

The Biomass Category Manager will be responsible for developing and executing biomass sourcing and supply chain strategy. The role involves identifying high-quality biomass materials, building strong farmer partnerships, managing sourcing locations, and ensuring cost-effective procurement while maintaining operational efficiency. The incumbent will also oversee purchase site operations, logistics, and vendor contracts to guarantee uninterrupted supply at the lowest possible cost, while securing competitive position in the biomass market.

Responsibilities :

  • Identify and evaluate high-heating-value biomass materials at the farmer level.
  • Select and manage sourcing locations for efficient handling and storage of biomass.
  • Plan and schedule biomass procurement across harvesting seasons, ensuring timely supply to company warehouses.
  • Source biomass directly from farmers at target pricing, fostering long-term supplier relationships.
  • Manage purchase site operations, including shredding, baling, and logistics.
  • Negotiate and manage logistics and supply contracts from purchase sites to company premises.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with the company's biomass requirements.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives to ensure the lowest biomass procurement prices.
  • Establish and maintain framework contracts to secure reliable supply sources.
  • Arrange and optimize logistics operations to ensure seamless material movement.
  • Build and engage peer committees with benchmark companies for continuous improvement and industry insights.

Education & Experience :

  • Master's in Business Administration/Agriculture/Agribusiness Management.
  • 8-12 years of experience in relevant field.
