Biomedical Manager – Karachi

Our client is looking for a
Head of Department (Biomedical Engineering)
to lead their biomedical team at a respected not-for-profit medical centre in Karachi. The hospital is known for its patient-centric care, round-the-clock emergency and diagnostic services, and a wide range of specialized departments—from pediatrics and dialysis to surgery and physiotherapy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead maintenance, calibration, and repair of all medical equipment.
  • Provide recommendations on procurement or repair decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital protocols.
  • Supervise and develop the biomedical team.
  • Oversee quality assurance programs.
  • Manage departmental budget, inventory, and purchasing.
  • Train staff on safe equipment use and maintenance.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to equipment.
  • Collaborate across hospital departments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all equipment servicing.
  • Promote hygiene, safety, and ergonomic practices.
  • Undertake other responsibilities as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
  • Leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong technical knowledge of medical equipment and compliance 5-8 years.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
