Job Title: Assistant Manager Tax

Location: Karachi Head Office

Job Purpose

The Assistant Manager Tax will support tax compliance and reporting processes, including mapping, reconciliation, vendor management, and preparation of audit documentation. The role requires strong technical knowledge of Pakistans tax laws, hands-on SAP expertise, and the ability to manage day-to-day tax operations in line with company and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Map and process income/sales tax codes and rates against all purchase invoices in SAP and related systems.

  • Review vendor tax status (NTN, name, active/inactive) and apply the correct CBT for inactive/suspended vendors.

  • Manage vendor exemption certificates and reduced tax rates in internal portals in line with applicable laws.

  • Assist in compliance with stamp duty regulations.

  • Share withholding tax deduction certificates and challans with vendors.

  • Reconcile tax deductions and expenses with P&L (weekly, quarterly, annual).

  • Reconcile sales tax returns with P&L.

  • Assist in local and global tax reporting and compliance activities.

  • Maintain monthly document packs for tax purposes and audits.

  • Support in preparation and submission of data for Federal & Provincial tax audits and notices.

Qualification

  • ACCA / ICMA (part-qualified) or equivalent.

Experience & Skills

1-3 years of relevant experience in tax/finance operations, preferably in a multinational or FMCG environment.

Strong understanding of Pakistans tax laws (Income Tax, Sales Tax, Stamp Duty, etc.).

Hands-on experience with SAP and tax portals.

Proficient in MS Excel and data reconciliation.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.

Effective communication skills for coordination with vendors and internal teams.
