Job Title: Procurement Executive – Building Materials

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Executive to manage the sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of building and construction materials. The ideal candidate will have strong vendor management skills, a good understanding of construction supply chains, and the ability to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials at the most cost-effective rates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for building materials such as cement, steel, timber, electrical fittings, plumbing materials, etc.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders based on project needs and budget constraints.
  • Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, and warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate material delivery.
  • Monitor inventory levels and forecast material requirements in line with project timelines.
  • Maintain updated records of suppliers, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and relevant legal regulations.
  • Evaluate supplier performance, manage vendor relationships, and resolve any delivery or quality issues.
  • Assist in cost-saving initiatives and value-engineering strategies.
  • Keep abreast of market trends, new materials, and changes in pricing or availability.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the construction or building materials industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with construction materials and site requirements.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) are an advantage.
  • Experience working on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of local and international building material markets.
