Job Summary:

We are seeking an
Assistant Manager – Import
with proven expertise in handling the end-to-end import process for a steel manufacturing setup. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in import/export documentation, Letters of Credit (LCs), and effective coordination with banks, insurance companies, suppliers, and clearing agents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all import-related activities including documentation, shipment tracking, and clearance.
  • Prepare, review, and process LCs in coordination with banks.
  • Liaise with insurance companies, shipping lines, and customs authorities.
  • Negotiate with international suppliers for best terms and timely deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with all import/export regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of import activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum
    2-5 years of relevant experience
    in imports within the steel or heavy manufacturing sector.
  • Strong knowledge of LCs, import/export laws, and customs procedures.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
